Stitch is a mature proud boy. He is highly intelligent, knows many commands, and learns new ones quickly. He walks very well on leash with head held high; curious about everything from ground to sky, especially squirrels. Sometimes we’ll even jog a bit. He has been at the shelter for quite a while, coming in with his share of trauma. He has come so far since then and is ready for a family of his own. Stitch will seek out contact with new people, often with tail wagging. He is most comfortable with adults and older children. He seems indifferent to cats and will initiate contact with other dogs. If he is comfortable with you, you’ll have a gentle, fun, loving companion who is eager to please and likes giving hugs and getting scratches behind the ears and shoulder rubs. He is very playful and loves his toys, especially a good game of tug-of-war or fetch. He is patient and even tempered. He is so ready to have a home and family where he will be loved and played with and have a safe place.
