New Cat Facility Construction Begins! -- Tuesday June 3rd, 2025

Construction Begins on Our New Cat Facility!

On Monday, members of the RCHS Board of Directors were joined by staff, volunteers, the Randolph County Animal Control Officer, the Executive Director of the Elkins-Randolph Chamber of Commerce, the Tygart Valley United Way, and community supporters to break ground on our new cat facility. Construction is now under way!

We have also erected a project funding tracker in front of Elkins Builders where you can keep up with our progress toward our $385,000 fundraising goal.

You can also help us reach that goal by donating via our website, dropping off your gift at the shelter or mailing it to RCHS, PO Box 785, Elkins WV 26241.

Introducing The RCHS Kind Kids Club -- Monday April 10th, 2023

The RCHS Kind Kids Club & The Damien Project

RCHS has launched a new initiative, the Kind Kids Club, and our inaugural project is  focused on providing safe and proper-fitting harnesses for newly adopted dogs.

The Damien Project was started by third-grader Riley Weeks, in memory of Damien, a dog adopted from RCHS. While traveling to his new home, Damien escaped from his collar and sadly never made it to his new family.

If you'd like to support The Damien Project, you can donate online. Just $15 buys a new, no-escape lead/harness for a dog to wear home when they are adopted.
