About the Randolph County Humane Society

Founded in 1958, the Randolph County Humane Society (RCHS) is a small, rural, West Virginia animal shelter with a big heart.

More Than Half A Century
of Helping Animals

For 65 years, we’ve been committed to helping abandoned, abused, neglected, and homeless animals in Randolph County and surrounding areas.

We believe that every dog, cat and critter that comes into our care would make a wonderful companion if just given a chance. Our mission is to increase those chances through our pet adoption services.

RCHS is proud to have one of the highest adoption rates for shelters in West Virginia (see recent statistics). But there is always so much more to do, so many more animals that need loving homes.

As a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, RCHS relies on the generosity of the public to help us with our work. Our funding primarily comes from public donations, bequests, adoption fees, and support from Randolph County and local municipalities.

How You Can Help

There are many ways you can help us help the animals—including adopting, sponsoring or fostering a pet; donating money or supplies; or volunteering with RCHS.

You can also help by holding a special fundraiser (like a car wash or yard sale), supporting our Yelp for Help! medical program, liking us on Facebook, and spreading the word about the importance of ending pet overpopulation through effective spay/neuter programs.

We also encourage you to stop by the shelter and visit with the animals. They would love it!
